How “Smart” are you?
Visits to the internet from PCs are dropping. The mobile revolution is already here.

The world stays up all night for the launch of a new iPhone and more and more users join the “smart” community. The statistics show how daily visits to the internet from PCs are dropping, positioning smartphones as the undisputed winners of the digital “Third Era”. The mobile revolution is already here.
Cyberspace is becoming the main channel for the development of people’s and companies’ activities. In the analog models we knew little about our audience, but now we can access their world, their tastes and even their daily moods through social media, the great catalysts of virtual traffic.
Marketing is no longer something intuitive and debatable: everything translates into numbers and statistics, there is less room for error and decisions are made with more certainty; which brings a new challenge when it comes to understanding, storing and processing that information.
But the biggest change is taking shape from mobile devices and their domino effect, because queries and purchases of products and services are starting to be made from them more than from PCs. Through mobiles, internet access increases and becomes constant: from work, from bed or in the middle of a wait, to name a few. Their omnipresence is changing our behavior: they show up in the middle of conversations (we are getting used to talking to people who barely look us in the eye), at every doubt they come to save us with a search engine at hand (unlimited but fleeting access to knowledge), besides keeping us connected to the global community at all times, or whats app doc?
So Movile First keeps gaining ground, and in a not too distant future, every product and service will be born with a specific version for mobile. It is no longer about adapting an interface, but about creating from the usefulness and the differentiation that the smart era allows us, taking advantage of the multichannel strategy this implies. Whether they are ads in the press, on television, in conversations and or the in-store experience, everything comes together through smartphones.
To win over the new consumer you have to think mobile, the big CEO`S are already saying it, like Bernardo Hernández (Director of Emerging Products at Google): “It is an unstoppable reality; in fact, at Google we have seen over the last 4 years that searches made through mobile phones grew 400%. Internet access is already mobile, and any company that does not consider it for selling its products or services will be left behind. Marketing has to be mobile”.
